Do you have a minimum of 2 hours per week to support a disadvantaged young person achieve their 100 logbook hours?
The Queensland Police-Citizens Youth Welfare Association (QPCYWA) is a community-based organisation concerned with the development of youth through the provision of sporting and recreational activities.
One of the many programs PCYC Queensland delivers is the Braking the Cycle program. Braking the Cycle is a learner mentor driving program that aims to provide young people with increased employment opportunities, community connection and road safety education. We support learner drivers without access to a supervisor or registered vehicle to complete their logbook hours. Our Mentors are critical to the success of the program and act as positive adult role models as well as driving supervisors.
We ask for all Driver mentors to hold an Open Driver's Licence for 12 months, have a good traffic history and have or be able to apply for a Blue Card.
Training on the role will be provided. We also supply the vehicle and insurance for conducting driving sessions.
