Our vibrant team in Hervey Bay provides a variety of services, including group outings and activities for our residents. To keep these important programs running smoothly, we are looking for a Volunteer Activities Assistant to work alongside our staff in supporting residents with a range of activities and group programs.
You'll play a key role in setting up and packing down activities, offering support and reassurance to residents - and we encourage you to join in and have fun! You may also assist with resident outings, bringing extra joy to their day.

- A passion for a wide range of activities, such as arts & crafts, sewing, bingo, or other games
- A genuine desire to make a positive impact in people's lives
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds
- A patient, friendly, and mature attitude with a strong respect for confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Flexibility and commitment, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A caring and respectful attitude towards others
Mandatory Requirements
- Completion of Volunteer Mandatory Training (includes online and face-to-face modules) before starting your first shift
- National Police Certificate (we'll coordinate and cover the cost for this check)
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
Other Expectations
- Availability for one 4-hour shift per week, between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday
- A willingness to commit to ongoing, reliable volunteering
- A strong commitment to confidentiality and maintaining professional boundaries (you'll sign a Statement of Agreement)
- Two referees (not relatives) who can verify your character and community involvement (e.g., work colleague, church elder, community leader, doctor, or other professional)
Regular - more than 6 months
TrainingOrientation and on the job training
Time requiredAtleast one shift (4 hours) per week between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday
