Day-to-day Operations:
Monitor and supervise the daily operation of all machinery in tugs efficiently.
Report faults or issues during tug operations to the Foreman Tug Fleet or in charge to prevent wastage of resources and costs.
Perform regular major and minor maintenance activities on tugs to ensure proper functioning and service delivery.
Develop and maintain inventory of engine spare parts and machinery, and prepare or submit material requests to the Foreman Tug Fleet or in charge.
Carry out Planned Maintenance System (PMS) routines, including filter changes, engine oil changes, leak repairs, and general cleanliness of machinery spaces, ensuring all activities comply with DDW-D standards.
Maintain good working relationships with workers, foremen, supervisors, and management.
Attend training sessions as required by the department.
Ensure materials used meet quality standards and report damages when necessary.
Complete tasks within allocated timeframes to meet departmental targets.
Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.
Follow daily operational procedures related to your role to ensure work continuity.
Education / Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree or minimum 12th grade with Science background
- STCW.3 (Engine) restricted certification
- 3-5 years of experience in the port industry as a Tug Engineer
- Marine Diploma (optional)
- Thorough knowledge of dual fuel diesel engines
