Truck Driver (Logistics)

Longtrail Farms is currently looking for a Full Time Truck Driver (Logistics) to join our team located in Parilla, Southern Mallee. This new role will be responsible for safe and efficient transport of agricultural goods in accordance with farm activities across potato and broadacre grain operations.

About the role:

• Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will primarily be truck driving (currently a Scania) on and off farm moving crops, feed, equipment, and supplies between paddocks, storage facilities, and for delivery.

• Over the course of the week, you will travel across farms and to local towns, potentially a full day of driving. During peak times, work will be required across weekends and public holidays.

• You will be responsible for ensuring trucks are safe for operation, with routine checks, cleaning and minor maintenance as needed to keep vehicles roadworthy at all times.

• Managing the logistics and maintaining accurate records of deliveries, load details, and trip logs are essential to the role, while complying with road safety regulations and farm biosecurity requirements.

• There will be times when driving is not required, and the role will be expected to assist across all areas of the farm from ad hoc fencing work, machine operation and other general farmhand duties.

About you:

• Ideally you will have your MC licence or HC and willing to obtain MC immediately

• You will have experience in agricultural transport, such as planning routes, securing loads, and handling grain, hay, or farm inputs

• A familiarity of agricultural tasks, and ability to conduct general truck maintenance using problem-solving skills

• You are reliable, self-motivated, able to follow safety protocols and work independently

• Strong communication skills with a team-oriented approach

• Flexibility and adaptability to remain positive if given changing priorities and an openness to assist with any required tasks to ensure the best business output

Parilla is within 20 minutes from both Lameroo and Pinnaroo towns which have strong communities with a variety of sports clubs and schooling available. Longtrail has housing available for individuals and families.
