WhoTract is a national planning and design practice specialising in town planning, urban design, landscape architecture and associated digital media. The RoleTract is seeking a capable Town Planner to join our growing Victorian team. This is both a statutory and strategic planning role and the successful applicant will be exposed to projects across a range of sectors. Your submission should highlight your key project experience and describe the sectors where you have greatest town planning experience.
What you'll do- Navigate complex planning frameworks to provide clear and accurate advice
- Manage smaller scale planning projects with guidance from senior planning staff including scoping of projects, drafting of advice and reports, coordination of inputs
- Provide inputs on a range of medium and large-scale projects including rezonings, PSPs, and development approvals in collaboration with Tract's Urban Design, Landscape Architecture and Media teams
- Engage with clients, authorities, and stakeholders to deliver innovative planning solutions
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in town planning
- Post graduate experience in the Victorian planning system
- A solid understanding of the Planning and Environment Act, Victoria Planning Provisions and associated policies
- Demonstrated capabilities in statutory and/or strategic planning projects of various complexities and dealing with a variety of stakeholders
- Awareness of current planning, development, economic, social and environmental issues
- An enthusiastic, proactive and commercial attitude
- The ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A genuine passion for planning
