Nestled in the heart of Newry, our client is an award-winning manufacturer of convenience foods. Due rapid expansion, this organisation now seeks a Technical Manager to help lead them through their next phase of growth.
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for:
- The implementation and adherence to the food safety and quality management systems
- Maintaining AA Grade BRC accreditation
- Ensuring that products meet all quality criteria, i.e. specification, traceability, labelling, visual presentation, weight, and food safety
- Develop, and ensure that quality systems operate efficiently in order to satisfy customers and provide due diligence
- Liaise with customer and supplier technical representatives and take the lead during site audits
- Leading the HACCP team
- Involvement in NPD projects and launches
- Quality performance, customer complaints, defects, non-conformances and take appropriate corrective actions
- Manage site health and safety systems
- Manage a team of 10
As Technical Manager you will have:
- Degree educated in Food Science or equivalent
- Previous experience as Technical Manager/Food Safety Manager, with a small team of direct reports
- Experience with high risk, high care food manufacturing environment
- Comprehensive working knowledge of industry standards in Quality Management Systems, BRC, HACCP, HSE, Safety and Legality
- Retailer knowledge of the top 4
