Team Lead Motor (Underwriting)

We are looking for an experienced Motor Underwriting professional from an insurance company (not brokers) to lead and supervise a dynamic underwriting team. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to drive accurate risk assessment while ensuring adherence to company and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and support the motor underwriting team.
• Review and approve motor insurance policies within delegated authority.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, pricing strategies, and UAE Insurance Authority regulations.
• Provide guidance and training to enhance team performance.
• Coordinate with sales, claims, and reinsurance teams.
• Monitor workflow, allocate tasks, and ensure timely turnaround of quotations and policies.
• Analyze portfolio performance and recommend corrective measures.
• Prepare periodic underwriting reports for management review.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or related field.
• Professional certifications (CII, LOMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• 5-7 years of motor underwriting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory/team lead role.
• Strong knowledge of motor insurance products, risk assessment, and UAE market practices.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and MS Office.
• Customer-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
