Wood is currently recruiting an experienced Team Lead / Consultant - Integrity Management to join the Intelligent Assets team within the Digital Consulting business unit. The role is based full time at our Abu Dhabi office.
The Team Lead / Consultant will oversee delivery of integrity engineering consultancy services across a range of asset integrity scopes, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost effective operation of client assets. Responsibilities include managing technical projects such as anomaly assessments, inspection planning, life extension studies, pipe integrity activities, and leading advanced Fitness for Service (FFS) evaluations.
Responsibilities- Support and oversee the technical scopes of the integrity management team, including anomaly assessment, inspection planning and execution support, life extension and remnant life studies, flexible pipeline integrity assessments, and pipeline and pressure systems integrity activities.
- Lead and manage delivery of Pipeline FFS assessments across multiple projects, including Level 1-3 evaluations and advanced FEA based assessments.
- Develop, update and implement pipeline integrity management processes and guidelines.
- Oversee data collection, review, and cleansing activities to ensure quality inputs for integrity assessments.
- Manage client relationships and coordinate with client teams for data provision, site visits, and technical discussions.
- Lead and mentor a team of 4-8 engineers, ensuring technical quality, timely delivery, and compliance with HSSE and quality standards.
- Support business development through proposal contributions and client engagement aligned with the scope of these pipeline integrity projects and actively identify new opportunities to contribute to revenue growth targets.

- Bachelor's (minimum) or Master's (preferred) in Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional status preferred.
- Extensive experience (>10 years) in pipeline integrity engineering with specialist competence in FFS assessments per API 579 1/ASME FFS 1, including Level 1 screening, Level 2 analytical methods, and Level 3 FEA based assessments.
- Strong understanding of pipeline integrity management, including corrosion assessment, anomaly management, inspection planning, and life extension studies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes: API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, DNVGL standards, BS 7910, and others relevant to pipeline and pressure system integrity.
- Experience with pipeline integrity software tools such as NEXUS IC, ECE, ANSYS/ABAQUS.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver complex technical scopes in line with client proposals and contractual requirements.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams in a multi disciplinary environment.
- Hands on experience applying TWI Crackwise (or similar tools) for fracture mechanics assessments in compliance with API 579 1/ASME FFS 1 and BS 7910 methodologies.
- Experience with Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies and API 580/581 standards.
- Knowledge of flexible pipeline integrity assessment standards (API RP 17B, EI guidance).
- Familiarity with pipeline inspection technologies and data analysis techniques.
