Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Lead / Consultant - Integrity Management join in Intelligent Assets team within the Digital Consulting business unit. Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based full time at our office in Abu Dhabi.

The Team Lead / Consultant will oversee delivery of integrity engineering consultancy services across a range of asset integrity scopes, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of client assets.

The role includes managing technical projects such as anomaly assessments, inspection planning, life extension studies, and pipeline integrity activities. The position also involves leading advanced Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations, including Level 1-3 assessments, as part of project delivery.

This position will manage projects with full financial and resourcing accountability, lead a team of 4-8 engineers, and collaborate closely with client teams, including on-site support as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's (minimum) or Master's (preferred) in Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional status preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Extensive experience (
  • 10 years) in pipeline integrity engineering with specialist competence in Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments per API 579-1 / ASME FFS-1, including Level 1 screening, Level 2 analytical methods, and Level 3 FEA-based assessments.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline integrity management, including corrosion assessment, anomaly management, inspection planning, and life extension studies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes : API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, DNVGL standards, BS 7910, and others relevant to pipeline and pressure system integrity.
  • Experience with pipeline integrity software tools such as NEXUS IC, ECE, and FEA software (ANSYS / ABAQUS).
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver complex technical scopes in line with client proposals and contractual requirements.
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Hands-on experience applying TWI Crackwise (or similar tools) for fracture mechanics assessments in compliance with API 579-1 / ASME FFS-1 and BS 7910 methodologies.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience with Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies and API 580 / 581 standards.
  • Knowledge of flexible pipeline integrity assessment standards (API RP 17B, EI guidance).
  • Familiarity with pipeline inspection technologies and data analysis techniques.
