Remuneration package: up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

About the School

Merrylands East Public School is located just south of the Parramatta CBD in the South West Sydney. The school's current enrolment is 351 students in 15 mainstream classes. Ninety percent of students come from 40 different language background other than English, and 14% have a refugee backgrounds.

The school's learning support team is integral to the teaching and learning for students. Personalised learning plans are developed to assist students access the curriculum. The school works extensively with paraprofessionals, allied health and other interagencies to support students and their famlies.

The school hours are 8am to 1:15pm.

Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
  • Outstanding ability to promote and manage a library that inspires and extends all learners in the joy of reading.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with an ability to build a positive and effective relationship with students, staff, parents and the community.
  • Proven experience in working in teams across stages.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
