ApplicationsPLC Sydney is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher Librarian to work in our Junior School Library (Evandale campus focused - Pre-K to Year 2) on a part-time, permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities- Fostering Literacy and Learning: Collaboratively planning and teaching to seamlessly integrate information resources and technology into the curriculum, fostering a vibrant reading culture and developing strong information literacy skills for all Junior School students.
- Curating a Dynamic Collection: Strategically developing and maintaining a current and relevant library collection that is tightly aligned with pedagogical needs and the Junior School's evolving curriculum.
- Efficient Library Operations: Ensuring the smooth and efficient daily administration of the campus library, including the maintenance of systems, resources, and the effective oversight of support staff.
- Student Wellbeing and Engagement: Promoting the library as the central learning hub of the school, providing supportive pastoral care, and championing the holistic growth and engagement of every young student.
- Completed or currently studying appropriate Teacher Librarian qualifications
- Recognised teaching qualifications and current NESA registration
- Excellent pedagogical knowledge combined with expertise in library and information management
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery
- A strong ability to foster a love of reading and deliver engaging information literacy through weekly library programs
- Exceptional organisational and management skills to maintain efficient library operations
- Experience with dynamic school-based literary events and displays
Youwill be required to support the Christian ethos of the College.
Youwill need to provide a Working With Children Check Clearance Number and date of birth.
