Position Information
Hawkesbury High School is a comprehensive, co-educational high school with 470 students in Years 7-12, including 11% Aboriginal students. The school has strong community connections and an engaged parent body. It focuses on academic, vocational and wellbeing programmes and partners with local primary schools.
Applicants will work with an enthusiastic executive team, supportive staff and an engaged learning community that supports the social and academic development of all students.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Full approval to teach Food Technology.
- Effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create an engaging classroom environment fostering a high-expectation culture.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate as a member of the TAS faculty and contribute to school and faculty priorities.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom for a diverse range of students, including the cultural and educational needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Conditions
Relocation Support Payment of $5,000-$8,000 available for eligible applicants.
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus is paid pro rata for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
Unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
Applicants seeking either permanent full-time or permanent part-time employment are encouraged to apply. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part-time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage.
