Associate Tax Manager

• Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience

The Source and Recruit Company has been exclusively retained to assist Lavallee & Company in the recruitment of an Associate Tax Manager to join its Vermont-based team.

This key leadership role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a wide variety of tax returns, managing client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the firm's operational leadership. The ideal candidate is a CPA with solid public accounting experience, a strategic mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality, personalized service.

• Prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, and trust/estate tax returns

• Provide mentorship and supervision to junior accounting staff, fostering professional development

• Manage and deepen relationships with existing clients, while contributing to ongoing business development

• Offer accounting support and client onboarding, particularly with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online

• Assist in tax planning and ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations

• Active CPA license required

• Minimum of 3 years' public accounting experience focused on tax preparation and review

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online

• Familiarity with UltraTax software is a plus but not required

• Competitive salary range of $85,000 - $105,000, based on experience
