Role Overview

A leading hospital in Abu Dhabi, operating in partnership with a major U.S. medical institution, is seeking a highly qualified Arabic-speaking specialist pediatric surgeon with a focus on trauma surgery. The role involves managing complex pediatric surgical emergencies and trauma cases while delivering culturally sensitive, family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform surgical interventions for pediatric trauma cases, including abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, and soft tissue injuries.
  • Lead trauma resuscitation and surgical planning in collaboration with emergency and critical care teams.
  • Conduct elective pediatric surgeries for congenital and acquired conditions.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring safe recovery and long-term follow-up.
  • Participate in NICU, PICU, and Emergency Department multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Educate families on surgical options, risks, and recovery plans in Arabic and English.
  • Document all clinical interactions using EMR systems in compliance with DOH standards.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Pediatric Surgery.
  • Subspecialty experience in Pediatric Trauma Surgery.
  • Board certification (e.g., American Board, FRCS-Ped, Arab Board, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in pediatric surgical practice.
  • DOH license or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Fluency in Arabic is essential for patient and family communication.
  • Proven ability to manage high-acuity trauma cases in pediatric populations.

  • Experience in minimally invasive and laparoscopic pediatric procedures.
  • Familiarity with trauma protocols and pediatric surgical scoring systems.
