Family Drug Support (FDS) is looking for people to volunteer on our 24/7 National Support Line for families & carers supporting someone with substance use issues.
The RoleFDS aims to reduce isolation and stigma associated with substance use. We respect differences and recognise there is no one 'right' way to provide support to someone who is using alcohol or other drugs. Our volunteers aim to: be active listeners, display empathy, be nonjudgmental and nondirective, and help people find strategies for looking after themselves and others. Learn and apply practical skills, enhance your self-awareness, give back to your community, and work from your own home.
Need to KnowTraining will be in-person in Adelaide - provided over 2 full days (weekend).
SkillsSupport Services: Counselling, Psychology, Social Support.
To assist families throughout Australia to deal with alcohol and other drugs issues in a way that strengthens relationships and achieves positive outcomes.
Family Drug Support provides up to date information on all aspects of alcohol and drug use relative to the families.
