The ACVVS program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person, right here in the Illawarra.
Spend time with an elderly client living at home in the Illawarra, who is seeking a friendly visitor to catch up for weekly or fortnightly chats (30 minutes). Enjoy a wander around the garden, a game of cards, or simply chatting together over a cuppa during your visits.
Your Impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
HammondCare
HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare.
HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
Requirements- 18 years or older
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30-minute to one-hour visit between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
