Job Title: Senior or Associate Town Planner

Location: Cardiff

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded planning consultancy in their search for a Senior or Associate Town Planner to join their growing Cardiff team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an RTPI and/or RICS qualified planner to take the next step in their career, managing a diverse portfolio of projects and contributing to some of Wales' most exciting and high-profile developments.

The Role

As a key member of the Cardiff Planning team, you will take responsibility for delivering a variety of planning projects - from site assessments and policy reviews to preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and development plan representations.

You'll manage your own workload and client relationships while supporting the wider team on major schemes. The role also involves contributing to business development, assisting with mentoring junior colleagues, and helping drive the continued success of the practice.

Current projects span a mix of renewable energy, mixed-use regeneration, education, and commercial development, with clients including developers, investors, institutions, and landowners across Wales and the wider UK.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • 25-30 days annual leave (depending on level)
  • Life assurance and private medical scheme
  • Virtual GP and wellbeing support
  • Company pension scheme
  • Global mobility and rewards platform
  • Excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development

About You

  • MRTPI or MRICS qualified (or working towards this)
  • Solid experience in UK town planning, ideally with consultancy exposure
  • Strong project management and report writing skills
  • Excellent communication and client-facing ability
  • Motivated, organised, and proactive team player

This is a brilliant opportunity for a talented planner to join one of the UK's most respected planning teams and take a leading role in delivering major projects across Wales and beyond.
