To coordinate and monitor the activities of the Main Control Room, ensuring continuity of power supply, compressed air and steam efficiently and safely to DUBAL site and 3rd party customers.

The position is a fixed term contract of 2 years from Nov 2025 until Sep 2027, reporting to the Shift Charge Engineer / Shift Manager on their assigned shift in Power Plant 1 or 2.

• Power/Steam/Compressed Air/Water Production Monitoring: Operate, troubleshoot, and monitor Gas Turbines, Boilers, Plotlines Rectifiers, maintain PMS (XA-21) and SCADA systems, calculate fault levels, monitor power flow 132 KV, 33 KV & 11 KV, assist in preparing and updating minutes of reports, maintain GDC, export/import to DEWA and third parties, carry out routines such as auxiliaries changed over, safety tests, performance and efficiency tests, chemical and water washing of Gas turbines compressors.
• Control Systems Monitoring: Responsible for normal behaviour of control systems of Gas Turbines and Steam Turbines and Boilers including GE Speedtronic Mark-5 and Marker-2, ABB Procontrol and EGRATROL, ABB POS -30, Alostom ALSPA P-320, PLC, HMI, simplicity HMI, Sentinel, DCS Alostom ALSPA P-320, Controllers Analogue and Digital, Analyzers such as PH, conductivity, Silica, Chlorine, Dissolved O2 etc, relative to industrial water treatment using computer board system.
• Start-up and Shutdown: Responsible for start-up and shutdown of gas / steam turbines and waste heat boilers as directed by Shift Manager / Shift Charge Engineer or OE with assistance of Power Supervisor and field Operators.

• Carry out remote high voltage switching from the control room as instructed by SM/SCE/OE.
• Closely monitor, report and initiate changes to suit power demand by all parties (internal & external) and monitor the DEWA-DUBAL power flows.
• Perform power flow simulation studies for the electrical network.

• Report to Shift Charge Engineer / Shift Manager on their assigned shift in Power Plant 1 or 2.
• Operate power generation equipment to enable safe and efficient supply of electric power to meet DUBAL site and 3rd party customers.
• Meet daily with Shift Manager, Shift Charge Engineer, OE at the beginning of shift to review priorities, start-up/shutdown of equipment.
• Maintain constant radio-telephone contact with SCE, SM, OE, Power Supervisor, Power Operators, MC1, Potline staff, DEWA, DUSUP, DUGAS, Gulf Extrusion, Desal Supervisors and crew throughout shift, checking equipment defects and initiating maintenance work requests.
• Ensure maximum steam production for the Desalination plant, liaise with internal and external parties, report to Shift Manager, Shift Charge Engineer or OE on important matters.
• Operate the compressed air plant for continuous generation of compressed air to satisfy DUBAL site operation needs.
• Ensure all personnel under his control are trained across the operations areas and carry out duties safely and effectively.
• Carry out routine operational checks using data processor, recorders etc. to evaluate performance of GT, ST & WHB and adjust to maximise efficiency.
• Monitor gas/distillate fuel and compressed air flow and pressure, fire control panel and initiate actions according to established requirements.
• Proper operation of gas turbines and other equipment to ensure emissions within limits per Environmental Policy and ISO14001.

• Responsible for training Control Room operators and ensuring they can conduct all practical tasks for each work location, monitor field operators throughout the shift.

• Decide on daily work allocation for direct reports including Senior Operator & Operator Main control Room.

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
• 10 years power station operational experience including 5 years at Senior Supervisory with authorisation for operations of High voltage switchgear.
• Experience in power generation and distribution, gas turbines and steam turbine generation, remote high voltage switching authorisation. Clear demonstration of technical knowledge, communication skill and leadership.

• Computer literacy with excellent communication and inter personal skill.
