Senior Pastor Gladstone Baptist Church

We are looking for a Senior Pastor to commence ministry with us.

Gladstone Baptist Church is an active church with a congregation of 240 adults with the mission: "More people more like Jesus". There is a strong representation across all demographics.

Our objective is to impact the Gladstone Region through our various ministries, as well as maintaining a strong mission focus. A major ministry is Trinity College which has 600 students from Preschool to Year 12. For more general information about GBC and its ministries, visit .

We currently employ a Pastoral and Administrative team of 3 full-time equivalent staff in addition to this role.

Gladstone is located just 6 hours drive north of Brisbane and is one of Australia's major export ports. It is a hub for industry in Queensland and Australia and is continuing to experience rapid growth. The Gladstone community is made up predominantly of young families. This is reflected in the church congregation and our ministry focus. The relaxed coastal lifestyle on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef makes Gladstone a much sought after location to raise families and enjoy its surrounding beaches, islands and hinterland. In applying for the position, the applicant must provide a covering letter, addressing the selection criteria and suitability for the position:

• Demonstrates a sound theological knowledge, governance and administration capacity, with appropriate qualifications, and a minimum of 10 years experience.
• Demonstrates the ability and experience to lead pastoral, administrative and ministry teams within a medium to large church; including developing a strategic vision and direction for the furtherance of God's Kingdom.
• Demonstrates effectiveness in leading services, sound biblical preaching and teaching, and providing pastoral care.
• Demonstrates the ability to mobilise the staff and congregation to recognise and utilise their gifts thereby equipping all ministries of the church, including the support of Trinity College, to achieve their vision for the furtherance of the gospel.
• Demonstrates developed interpersonal skills in problem solving, professional development, conflict resolution and disciplinary action when required.
• Demonstrates insight and vision into the impacts of identity, culture and social challenges in the community of Gladstone Region
