Role: Senior IT Procurement Officer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Description:
  • Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle related to the Information Technology Department.
Role Purpose:
  • Act as Senior Buyer for the IT category.
Key Accountabilities of the Role: IT Procurement & Vendor Management:
  • Receive RFQs/RFPs from IT requesters, solicit proposals from vendors, communicate with vendors, and negotiate terms.
  • Attend meetings with senior stakeholders and vendors.
  • Prepare procurement plans with end users.
  • Create contracts for all engagements and negotiate terms and conditions with vendors.
  • Create Purchase Orders (POs) and issue them to vendors for execution and delivery.
  • Coordinate between IT and VMCP for vendor registration, vendor account updates, etc.
  • Initiate SPM for all engagements.
  • Ensure closure of all open POs.
  • Support vendors for pending payments by coordinating with requesters and FCD.
  • Utilize SAP Ariba effectively for RFPs, contracts, and reverse auctions.
  • Maintain proper and consistent communication with vendors.
  • Adhere to VMCP policies and procedures, and support line managers in closing audit points.
  • Act as SME to suggest process improvements and cost savings.
  • Ensure timely accommodation of all IT-related procurement requests to prevent delays.
  • Represent as SME in meetings/deals with internal and external stakeholders.
Financial & Contract Approval Management:
  • Lead contract drafting, review, and execution with stakeholders.
  • Maintain and monitor the Contract Database.
  • Ensure proper archiving of procurement files.
Special Tasks:
  • Assist internal customers (other categories managed by VMCP) and perform additional tasks as required (meetings, calls, reports).
  • Maintain good controls within all departmental functions and keep the Department Head informed of issues.
Skills / Technical Knowledge Required:
  • Experience in IT procurement or a background in IT profession.
Previous Experience:
  • Preferred CIPS qualification or active membership.
  • Banking experience is preferred.
