Position Summary

The ideal candidate possesses expertise in product development, apparel technical design, quality assurance and design. This team member will directly handle and manage all aspects of product development from concept through design, development, launch and rollout. This team member should also have advanced experience in both Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring quality fit, actualization of design elements, and meeting and maintaining company quality standards in the product development stages. This individual will have proven success in the apparel technical design environment or in related design or product development field. This individual will partner closely with Concept Design, Account Management, Production, Sourcing, and other related divisions.


Requirements

Degree in textile design preferred

Minimum 10 years experience in Product Development and Technical Design

2+ years' experience in management

Microsoft proficiency

Expertise knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

WFX Experience

Proven track record of working cross-functionally with business development and sourcing

Thorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, sewing techniques, trim and technical knowledge of fabric construction

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality, organization, strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to analyze workload, prioritize and plan accordingly

Exceptional follow-up skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Responsibilities


Raw Materials:

Evaluate lap dip samples, trim samples, and bulk fabric for approval from factories.


Development:

Develop product for Knits and Wovens for Uniform programs

Create Tech Packs in WFX

Manage product development for our customers and prospects. This includes taking the customer's final design and developing the physical product directly with the manufacturer, ensuring all components of product adhere to and meet customer requirements.

Manage and execute on required timelines with factories to meet product design deadlines, while ensuring costing parameters meet margin requirements.

Review inventory of prototypes and pre-production samples to ensure accuracy, color, and quality with originally approved samples.

Maintain WIP report that is published weekly

Work with Production and the Director of Supply Chain on product costing, sample development costs, and any other factory specific development expenses as required.


Technical Design:

Works closely and foster strong relationships with Account Managers, Design and Sourcing to capture accurate design information for the technical development of the product.

Ensures fit charts are clearly communicated to factories by deadlines.

Facilitate sample requests

Develop a grading scale that encompasses design requirements, specifications, and quality standards for Image Solutions.

Conduct fit sessions to review consistency while documenting fit and quality standards from development to pre-production approval.

Work with factories to troubleshoot and correct fit and detail needs

Complete and manage all overseas tech packs within database, while ensuring measurements, specifications and construction details are accurate at the product development level and aligns with what the customer has approved.

Create and maintain Bill of Materials
