Reports To: Product Control Manager
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Product Controller to join the Middle Office team of a Financial Services client. This is a key finance role responsible for daily P&L reporting, validation, desk oversight, and reconciliation across trading desks.
You'll work closely with traders, risk managers, operations, and finance teams to ensure the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial results and controls.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, front-to-back banking environment and wants to develop strong product and control expertise.
Responsibilities- Produce and validate daily Profit & Loss (P&L) for assigned trading desks.
- Investigate and explain P&L drivers and market movements.
- Perform trade, position, and valuation reconciliations between front and back office systems.
- Oversee financial controls and reporting processes to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with traders and risk teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with policies.
- Conduct valuation checks on complex financial instruments and review mark-to-market results.
- Support the month-end close process and ensure accurate balance sheet reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and reporting improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 3-7 years' experience in Product Control, Middle Office, or Financial Control within a bank.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and products (FX, equities, fixed income, derivatives).
- Solid knowledge of P&L attribution, reconciliation, and valuation controls.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL, VBA, or Python is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
