Our client is a large waste management company seeking a Procurement Director to lead and manage the organization's procurement and supply chain operations, ensuring efficient sourcing of goods, materials, and services required for waste collection, recycling, treatment and disposal activities. The role focuses on achieving cost efficiency, supplier performance and sustainability aligned with the company's operational and environmental goals.

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and sustainability standards
• Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation and performance management
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, environmental regulations and relevant procurement laws
• Manage supplier relationships to drive quality, cost savings and innovation in waste management processes
• Lead tendering and contracting for equipment, vehicles, recycling plants and waste processing facilities
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Finance teams to forecast procurement needs and optimize inventory
• Monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities, new technologies and sustainable materials
• Establish KPIs for procurement efficiency, supplier delivery and cost reduction targets
• Ensure ethical sourcing practices and promote environmentally responsible purchasing
• Lead, mentor and develop the procurement team to build capability and ensure effective succession planning

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
• Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or PMP) preferred
• 10+ years of procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Experience in waste management, environmental services, utilities or industrial operations preferred
• Strong negotiation, analytical and vendor management skills
