The school is scheduled to open on Day 1, Term 1, 2027, to meet the needs of the rapidly growing local community.

Due to the unique and complex nature of establishing a new school, the Foundation Principal will commence on Day 1, Term 1, 2026, to lead all aspects of school establishment, including recruitment of staff, development of school processes and culture, and collaboration with School Infrastructure NSW and key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. The site will include a public preschool accommodating up to 60 children, as well as special education classrooms designed to meet the needs of students requiring additional support. The school will feature flexible learning spaces, specialist teaching areas, and contemporary facilities that foster engagement, wellbeing, and collaboration across all stages of learning.

Located on Dharawal Country, Wilton Junction Public School will provide a modern, inclusive, and community-focused learning environment that reflects local values and the Department's commitment to excellence, equity, and cultural responsiveness in public education.

Specific Selection Criteria

  • Proven capacity to lead explicit teaching and evidence-based practices, applying departmental processes and early childhood regulatory requirements to ensure every child can learn, grow, and belong.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven record of fostering authentic connections with families, local early childhood services, external organisations, and the broader community to support student success, high expectations, and a shared sense of belonging and purpose within the school community.
  • A highly visible and approachable leader who builds positive school culture, motivates staff and students, and models adaptability, equity, and excellence in every aspect of school life.
General Selection Criteria
  1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
