- Responsible for overall safety compliance and enforcement of federal, local, and Company procedures, policies and regulations.
- Lead the safety and compliance function to ensure prevention of injury, illness, and property damage.
- Manage medical and worker's compensation related activities.
- Investigate and report accidents, near misses, first aid, recordables and lost time injuries.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections throughout the facility.
- Administer safety programs (i.e., Lock out/Tag Out, Confined Space/Ergonomic programs, Hot Work/Industrial Hygiene, etc.)
- All other relevant duties to the job.
- Bachelor Degree in an environmental or health related science preferred.
- 5+ years experience in safety management within an industrial environment.
- Technical knowledge of OSHA laws, policies and regulations.
- CSP (Certification as Safety Professional) preferred.
- Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient technology and computer skills, including MS Office based programs.
