Job Description:Planning Engineer (Infrastructure)
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Planning Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will develop and maintain detailed project schedules for the cycle track project.
What You'll Be Doing:- Review and convey Engineer's consent to the Contractors' Baseline schedule of works in line with Contract conditions, using Parsons Recommended Practices.
- Validate the compatibility of project resources for timely completion.
- Develop a Master Schedule integrating multiple packages considering their interdependencies to identify and reflect the impact of one schedule/project on others.
- Evaluate & verify planning and scheduling information from updated/progress schedules. Identify potential delays/slippage, highlight critical events, and suggest mitigation measures or corrective actions.
- Perform "What if" analysis to assess the time impact of changes, variations, and potential events early, and advise on alternative actions before issuing instructions to contractors.
- Prepare regular progress and monthly reports with program analysis and recommendations, addressing program issues to ensure timely project completion, and prepare presentations on work progress concerning milestones.
- Assess claims including Extension of Time, Disruption, etc., using delay analysis methodologies such as time impact and window analysis, demonstrating the contractor's concurrent delay.
- Discuss, coordinate, and resolve planning and scheduling issues with contractors and the Employer.
- Coordinate with the Client to finalize contractor programs, reports, and claims.
- Attend meetings (kick-off, technical, progress review) and prepare concise minutes.
- Prepare Trackers/Logs to monitor critical issues during design and construction stages.
- Establish progress measurement systems (PMS) and key indicators with consultants/contractors for monitoring.
- Communicate clearly through presentations to management and interface effectively with professionals. Provide reasoned and analytical responses to contractor notices using programming data, construction practices, and contractual provisions.
- Maintain proper project records.
- Issue delay notices for contractor's culpable delays or slow performance, recording areas behind schedule.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and claims on infrastructure projects (Roads, Utilities, Landscape).
- Experience in infrastructure and utilities projects, with an understanding of construction industry interface and coordination requirements.
- Proficiency in scheduling software, especially Primavera P6.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of industry best practices and regulations.
