Physician - Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full-time medical care to hospital patients specializing in physical and rehabilitation medicine (including rounding and consultations).
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, staff, and other practitioners to develop and improve patient care policies .
- Address medical concerns that impact patient care, quality of life, or healthcare services .
- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with physical and cognitive impairments, disabilities, and pain conditions .
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures , including injections, electro-diagnostic medicine, and treatment planning.
- Assess and stabilize patients with emergency conditions per hospital policies.
- Supervise rehabilitation treatment plans , including physical therapy and interventions.
- Oversee admissions, pre-admission screenings, and patient care plans .
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient progress evaluations.
- Provide administrative support as required.
Qualifications
- Education: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school.
- Licensure: Active state medical license.
- Training: Completion of an accredited Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency .
- Certification: Board certification (or eligibility) in PM&R is preferred.
- Experience: Prior Medical Director or leadership experience preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Strong in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and strategic planning .
- Education & Training: Support medical education through curriculum development, rounds, lectures, and training sessions for medical staff.
