Job Description

HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church.

We're seeking a warm and prayerful volunteer to brighten the days of a lovely woman who treasures her home but feels the ache of loneliness. Your presence could be the blessing she's been waiting for, to listen, pray, and simply be there.

You'll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:

  • Support people to meet their spiritual needs

Skills required for this role:

  • High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
  • Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.

Requirements
  • 18 years or older
  • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
  • We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
