Job Description

HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly residents living in their homes. As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be a Christian actively involved with a local Christian church on The Central Coast and surrounding regions.

You'll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction, you may:

  1. Support people to meet their spiritual needs

Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is an independent charity passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that make a difference in the lives of our clients. We'll provide training, as well as specific pastoral care training, Spiritual Care Series, along with ongoing support and invitations to social events.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

Ideally, you'll be available one hour per week for 6-12 months or longer. We'd be happy to chat with you about a suitable day and time during the week between the hours of 9 am-5 pm Monday to Friday.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. 18 years or older
  2. National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
