HammondCare is an independent Christian charity specialising in dementia care, palliative care, and rehabilitation, specialist mental health for older people and other health and aged services.

OverviewHammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly residents living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church.
Responsibilities- Supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:
- Support people to meet their spiritual needs
- High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
- Pastoral Care training (e.g., Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education) or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training - Spiritual Care Series - in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.
Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience for both the person you visit and yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and reduce isolation.

We are committed to improving the quality of life for people in need and have a wonderful group of volunteers who make a difference in the lives of our clients. We provide training, including specific pastoral care training and ongoing support, with invitations to social events.

Requirements- 18 years or older
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
- One hour each week for 6 months or longer. We can discuss a suitable time between Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm.
