Position Overview: The Procurement Engineer - Mechanical will be responsible for full sourcing and procurement of mechanical materials and equipment for construction and infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems to ensure high-level materials are procured in accordance with project specifications and in the most effective manner possible.

Key Responsibilities: The Engineer will identify qualified mechanical suppliers, solicit quotations, and evaluate offers based on technical and commercial criteria. They will manage supplier communications, negotiate terms, and ensure materials are delivered within schedule and budget constraints. Collaboration with the project and engineering departments is central to ensuring smooth operations.

Procurement Strategy: This role necessitates creating sourcing plans, keeping an eye on vendor performance, and putting economical ideas into action. In order to suggest creative procurement solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs, the engineer will keep abreast of market conditions and technological developments in mechanical materials.

Technical Expertise: The candidate must demonstrate technical proficiency in evaluating mechanical drawings, specifications, and product data sheets. Expertise in handling procurement for HVAC systems, pumps, valves, and piping materials is essential. Familiarity with Oracle ERP and Microsoft Office tools is also mandatory for daily operations.

Collaboration and Coordination: The Procurement Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to ensure all mechanical procurement aspects are in accordance with the project schedule requirements. This includes fulfillment of progress updates, vendor performance, and communication among stakeholders to prevent delays in material arrival.

Compliance & Documentation: This position will involve maintaining accurate records of procurements to ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of the organization, and to support internal audits. The Engineer will also prepare and maintain vendor databases and assist with continuous improvement projects related to procurement practices.
