To lead and oversee paint shop operations, ensuring high quality workmanship, regulatory compliance, and efficient task execution; focusing on supervising painting activities, mentoring team members, optimizing workflow, and maintaining adherence to safety and quality standards while ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Key Result Responsibilities- Supervises and undertakes complex/ extensive paint tasks.
- Ensures correct manhours booking in routine and non routine task cards; reviews roster and controls overtime.
- Oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient task delegation and execution.
- Maintains compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Reviews assigned task cards with painters to understand work, priorities, documentation requirements and cautions before starting work.
- Prepares shift rosters for the paint team.
- Enhances coordination and communication within the team to improve workflow and reduce downtime.
- Performs defect rectification in accordance with approved maintenance data.
- Signs off maintenance tasks performed or supervised within the scope of own authorization, verifying that the task card and associated documents have been completed to the required standard after completion of all maintenance.
- Provides direction, coaching and guidance to team members for their career and professional development.
- Creates a conducive working environment to build and sustain a performance driven, engaged, and committed team.
- Ensures people management responsibilities are handled effectively in line with company procedures; manages performance of respective teams.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade.
- At least 3 years' experience performing paint maintenance on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types.
- At least 3 years' experience in a base maintenance workshop environment.
