Role SummaryThe Operations Specialist - Pre Openings is responsible for overseeing and executing all operational aspects of new venue launches from concept to opening. Acting as the key point of contact for all pre opening activities, this role ensures that each venue is operationally ready, compliant, and aligned with 7 Management's brand standards before launch. The Operations Specialist works cross functionally with departments such as Projects, HR, Finance, and Marketing to ensure timely, efficient, and successful openings.
Key Responsibilities- Leads the pre opening timeline and checklist, ensuring all operational tasks are completed on schedule.
- Coordinates between departments to align project milestones, including licensing, procurement, and staffing.
- Oversees the setup of all operational areas including kitchen, bar, service stations, storage, and back of house facilities, ensuring layouts, equipment, and processes meet brand and operational efficiency standards.
- Develops and implements standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new venues, ensuring all operational documentation is ready prior to opening.
- Coordinates with HR to ensure timely hiring of key pre opening positions and supports onboarding and operational training.
- Collaborates with Procurement and Projects & Maintenance teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment, furniture, and supplies.
- Oversees compliance with local regulations, permits, and health and safety standards, ensuring all required licenses are obtained before launch.
- Monitors pre opening budgets, tracks expenses, and identifies cost saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines.
- Conducts final pre opening inspections to ensure operational readiness, oversees mock services, staff briefings, and pre launch evaluations before handover to operations.
- Provides operational assistance during the initial opening period to ensure smooth transitions and address any start up challenges.
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in hospitality operations, with at least 3 years in pre opening or project coordination roles.
- Proven track record of managing end to end pre opening processes for restaurants, bars, or hotels.
- Strong understanding of operational workflows, kitchen and bar layouts, and service standards.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and manage timelines effectively.
- Solid knowledge of health, safety, and licensing requirements within the UAE or GCC region.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving abilities.
- Proactive, detail oriented, and able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
