Position Type: Locum-to-Perm Physician OBGYN
An excellent opportunity for an OBGYN physician to join a structured OB Hospitalist program in Des Moines. Physicians in this role will provide 24-hour in-house coverage, managing deliveries, emergent patients, and OBED cases with full MFM support.
• Inpatient only role no GYN responsibilities
• OBED: 8-bed unit with 1,389 visits annually ( 463 deliveries)
• MFM support available on call
• Residents onsite (not under hospitalist responsibility)
• Epic EMR in use
• Medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy available on-site
• Only maternity transport team in Iowa
• Board Certified (or truly Board Eligible) in OBGYN REQUIRED
• IA license or IMLC REQUIRED (must provide LOQ at name clear)
• Clean malpractice and background REQUIRED
• No APP supervision required
• Start Date: January 1, 2026
• Shifts per Month: 6.5
• Shift Length: 24 hours (7a 7a)
• On-Call: 24/7 in-house call (call rooms provided)
