Network Security Engineer

This leading Education provider is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to manage, secure, and optimise their IT network infrastructure.

In this role you will manage the environment, project implementation and to provide support services to resolve incidents/problems and action customer requests while operating within the ITIL Framework.

Key activities

• Maintain documentation of the network infrastructure and recommend improvements to network management.
• Life cycle management and administration of all network devices (cisco catalyst, Meraki and DNAC), ensure security patches and updates are timely rolled out.
• Maintain and improve the Cisco catalyst and Meraki Wifi network.
• Monitor and optimise internet traffic in the enterprise network
• Maintain the Cisco ISE environment and ensure relevant security policies are in place.
• Manage the Data centre network and top of rack networking.
• Maintain and improving cloud networking stack (AWS and Azure).
• Proactively look for, recommend, and implement improvements to IT management.

Skills and experience

• Strong background and hands-on experience with Cisco switches and routers
• Strong expertise in Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy configuration, threat management, and performance optimisation
• Exposure to Cisco ISE environments highly regarded.
• Working knowledge of SIEM, SASE (Zscaler/Prisma), Cisco Umbrella, Nexus data centre switches, and load balancers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building strong stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver to key milestones.
