Overview: Talent Acquisition Specialist at American Hospital Dubai overseeing the clinical and quality aspects of the MRI service, under the guidance of the Technical Director. Responsible for coordinating MRI examinations per hospital guidelines, participating in daily clinical work rota and out-of-hour standby, coordinating patient schedules, and mentoring MRI technologists.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees clinical and quality aspects of the MRI service under the direction of the Technical Director.
  • Performs all requested MRI examinations per the American Hospital Dubai and Medical Imaging Department guidelines.
  • Participates in the daily clinical work rota as a staff technologist and in the out-of-hour stand-by schedule.
  • Performs the full range of MRI procedures, including instructing and positioning patients, selecting techniques, and calibrating equipment to obtain high-quality images.
  • Operates and maintains equipment used in MRI procedures competently and efficiently.
  • Evaluates critical and emergency procedures and arranges patient priorities with Radiologist and department leadership.
  • Works closely with radiologists to meet procedural needs and requirements.
  • Reviews requests and previous studies to determine any unique procedural requirements before performing examinations.
  • Collaborates with others to accomplish tasks and supports team members.
  • Rosters MRI technologists to complete daily and weekly QA/QC integrity checks on rooms and equipment to ensure MRI areas are prepared for patients.
  • Checks equipment and accessory devices availability, stock levels, and ensures rooms are clean and ready at end of shifts.
  • Develops and implements procedural and equipment-based skills review tools.
  • Reviews technologists' skills and competence at least annually.
  • Acts as a mentor, clinical instructor, and educator.
  • Provides documented progress for new MRI technologists and for non-licensed MRI technologists who may be seconded to MRI.
  • Oversees, trains, and monitors technologists in day-to-day MRI procedures and safe operation of facilities and equipment.
  • Ensures all technologists assess and reassess patients and review safety measures before procedures, adhering to MRI safety standards and guidelines.
  • Maintains professional growth through seminars, workshops, and affiliations to stay current with trends and maintain competence.
  • Performs tasks using IT-based systems including RIS and EMR; protects data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Attends and represents MRI in hospital/departmental meetings, where appropriate.
  • Applies technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned with appropriate training.
  • Assists Chief of Medical Imaging and Technical Director with coordinating MRI modality Quality Improvement and Education Programs.
  • Implements processes in the MRI division to support DHA and JCIA standards of care and regulations.
  • Monitors the service, proposes changes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Conducts annual risk reviews of the MRI service and develops action plans for resolution.
  • Works with the MRI team to minimize risks.
  • Performs and monitors safety checks on patients, staff, and visitors to comply with safety regulations.
  • Develops, implements, and reports on MRI Quality Control (QC) test protocols based on best practice standards.
  • Continuously improves clinical and non-clinical outcomes and customer satisfaction through teamwork and processes.
  • Assists with follow-up on Incidents/Accidents/Unusual Occurrences and patient complaints related to MRI as directed by the Technical Director.
  • Follows Infection Control principles as dictated by hospital policy.
  • Keeps equipment and work areas clean and ready for patient care activities by disinfecting units and accessories and maintaining appropriate hygiene and uniforms.
  • Monitors MRI-specific supplies and maintains minimum/maximum par levels.
  • Participates in monthly environmental rounds in MRI and in department-wide environmental rounds.
  • Complies with Hospital Policy and Procedure regarding safety, infection control and security, including Codes of Ethics, HIPAA requirements and patient rights.
  • Participates in and develops information for MRI-specific performance measures as required.
  • Understands performance improvement concepts and articulates major goals of a performance improvement program within the MRI setting in the last 12 months.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiography/Radiology Technology or Medical Imaging
  • Active home country registration
  • Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License
Professional Experience
  • More than five (5) years of experience as an MRI Technologist
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of radiation, magnetic protection, and safety
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) or accreditation standards
  • Knowledge of Middle East Culture and Customs
  • Ability to mentor and facilitate clinical instruction to onboard non-licensed/licensed MRI technologists
  • Ability to remain sensitive to the needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and MRI techniques
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently
