Rotational Schedule: Drive-in, Drive-out rotational schedule, 13 days on/8 days off
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Completion & Commissioning Millwright to support the late-stage construction and commissioning of a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment Plant for a major mining client. This is a 1-year contract position with a focus on mechanical system completion, verification, and commissioning support for fixed and rotating equipment.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience working in industrial or mining environments and will play a key role in ensuring the plant's mechanical systems are safely and effectively transitioned from construction to operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities for process and utility systems.
- Install, align, and test pumps, motors, gearboxes, piping, and other mechanical components.
- Support functional testing, flushing, pressure testing, and system turnover documentation.
- Collaborate closely with commissioning engineers, construction teams, and client representatives to resolve issues and verify readiness for start-up.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, checks, and system status in alignment with project completion systems (check sheets, ITRs, etc.).
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site standards and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) - Red Seal certification is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical systems completion and commissioning in the mining, oil and gas, or other industrial process plant environments.
- Hands-on experience with water treatment systems, pumps, valves, and mechanical packages is an asset.
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and completion documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment during a fast-paced project phase.
Work Conditions & Compensation
- Drive-In/Drive-Out rotational schedule: 13 days on / 8 days off.
- Candidates must be based in British Columbia or Alberta.
- Mileage reimbursement for travel between home and project site.
- Live Out Allowance (LOA) provided during on-site rotation.
- Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
