The RoleBusiness Development Manager - lead our BDR teams in Australia, New Zealand, SE Asia, Korea, and India to drive inbound and outbound BDR activities and generate quality pipeline (qualified meetings) for the APAC sales team. The role works closely with APAC sales leadership and the demand generation and field marketing teams to expand Proofpoint's international presence and accelerate growth. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in B2B inside sales leadership and consistently exceeds KPIs in a fast-paced environment.
Your day-to-day- Orchestrate and manage the Business Development team to meet lead follow-up SLAs, achieve activity KPIs, and over-achieve objectives for qualified meetings by region
- Onboard, coach, and mentor new BDRs to ramp quickly and exceed quarterly targets (number of qualified meetings)
- Provide and deliver a continuous training plan, including quarterly role plays; develop training materials (call scripts, FAQs, battle cards) for priority sales plays
- Streamline, optimise and localise outreach sequences in collaboration with the demand generation team
- Ensure sales and marketing interlock and participate in regional sales meetings
- Collaborate with Field Marketing to ensure adequate MQLs and MQLCs for the BDR team
- Develop cross-sell/up-sell programs and an account-based BDR strategy
- Analyse team and campaign performance; manage outreach and SFDC dashboards to track activity and KPIs
- Provide monthly and quarterly regional business reporting and analysis on programs and campaigns
- Leadership experience in Business Development & Demand Generation within SaaS, Cloud, or IT Security enterprise software
- Experience with email automation (Outreach) and CRM (Salesforce)
- Familiarity with BDR Account Based Marketing methodologies and tactics
- Strong internal partnership skills with sales stakeholders
- Ability to train, coach, motivate, and lead a team of sales professionals
- Creative thinker who contributes new ideas and insights
- Resilience, drive, and adaptability in a fast-changing market
- Experience with AI tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Travel: approximately 20% of the time; occasional travel to the US for Sales Kick-Off
