Looking for a meaningful way to spend your weekend? The HammondCare Volunteer Program offers a special opportunity to bring joy, connection, and companionship to older people in Caulfield. Whether you love sports, art, gardening, pets, baking, yoga, music, movies, or simply a good chat over coffee-you can share your passions with someone who'll truly appreciate them. As a Weekend Volunteer Social Visitor, you'll spend time one-on-one or in small groups with residents in a care home, offering genuine connection and heartfelt moments that brighten their day-and yours. Give just a little of your weekend, and make a lasting difference in someone's life.

Please note: Volunteer interviews and Orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

We're looking for friendly weekend volunteers to provide one-hour visits between 9:30am-12:00pm or 1:00-4:00pm on Saturdays or Sundays. If weekends don't suit, we're happy to discuss weekday options too-visits can take place any day between 9:00am and 4:00pm, and can be weekly or fortnightly depending on your availability. Please note: Volunteer interviews and Orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours.
