Looking for a meaningful way to spend your weekend? The HammondCare Volunteer Program offers a special opportunity to bring joy, connection, and companionship to older people in the Upper Hunter.

Whether you love sports, art, gardening, pets, baking, yoga, music, movies, or simply a good chat over coffee-you can share your passions with someone who'll truly appreciate them.

As a Weekend Volunteer Social Visitor, you'll spend time one-on-one or in small groups with residents in a care home, offering genuine connection and heartfelt moments that brighten their day-and yours.

Give just a little of your weekend, and make a lasting difference in someone's life.

• Spend time with residents as a Social Visitor, either one-on-one or in small groups, to provide connection and companionship.
• Engage in activities or conversations based on shared interests (e.g., sports, art, gardening, pets, baking, yoga, music, movies, or casual chats).
• Support residents to feel less isolated and improve quality of life through regular visits.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits can help to improve quality of life and reduce feelings of isolation.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday; visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
