Job DescriptionAs a HammondCare Biography Writing or Editing volunteer in Western Sydney your listening and writing skills will allow HammondCare community clients to record their stories, memories, and messages for loved ones.
We are seeking a caring volunteer to spend time with a vibrant woman who loves thoughtful conversations, trivia, and sharing her life experiences. With a background in aged care and office work, she brings warmth, humour, and a passion for human rights. If you love storytelling, laughter, and connecting with others we would love to hear from you!
Responsibilities- Record and transcribe clients' life stories, memories, and messages for loved ones using provided tools.
- Collaborate with clients to capture meaningful details and ensure accuracy and respect for their experiences.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy and data protection policies.
- Arrange and conduct transcription and editing sessions as required, including evenings for transcription and a weekday for face-to-face interviews.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Typing speed of 50 words per minute.
- Ability to work independently and problem solve.
- Own car to drive to the client's home.
- Willingness to learn new technology and software; experience with a Dictaphone and transcription software is preferred.
- Availability for a long-term commitment and up to 5 hours per week.
The transcription and editing process can occur in the evenings, while the face-to-face interview will occur on a weekday (Monday-Friday between 9am-4pm) for one hour.

Requirements18 years or older; National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare; one hour face-to-face interview (Monday to Friday between 9am-4pm); transcription can occur during evenings or weekends.
