HammondCare is an independent Christian charity specialising in dementia care, palliative care, and rehabilitation, specialist mental health for older people and other health and aged services.
As a HammondCare Biography Writing or Editing volunteer in The Central Coast, your listening and writing skills will allow HammondCare community clients to record their stories, memories, and messages for loved ones.
Responsibilities- Utilize advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Achieve typing skills of 50 words per minute.
- Work independently and problem solve.
- Drive to the home of the client using your own car.
- Learn new technology and software, including using a Dictaphone and transcription software program.
- Commit to volunteering up to 5 hours per week.
- Conduct face-to-face interviews on weekdays (Monday-Friday between 9am-4pm) for one hour.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with.
Requirements- Must be 18 years or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- One hour face-to-face interview Monday to Friday between 9am-4pm, with transcription occurring during evenings or weekends.
