We have 6 community libraries across our local government area: Blacktown, Mount Druitt, Stanhope Gardens, Riverstone, Lalor Park, and Marsden Park Temporary Library. We also offer a popular mobile library service.

We provide a wide range of services, including borrowing services, digital library, study support, technology workshops, and multicultural, children and youth services.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Librarian to join our Community Learning team on a permanent, part-time basis. This role supports delivery of high-quality information services that promote lifelong learning and community engagement.

• Provide accurate, up-to-date information tailored to customer needs.
• Design and deliver engaging library programs.
• Collaborate effectively within a supportive team environment.
• Leverage current technologies to enhance service delivery.
• Champion innovation and excellence in customer service.

• Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent recognized by ALIA; eligible for ALIA membership.
• Suitable library experience and strong commitment to customer-focused service.
• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Proficient use of online and electronic resources including databases.
• Experience in initiating, planning, delivering, and evaluating programs, including training.
• Current Class C driver's licence.
• Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• Training skills and experience.
• First aid certification.
• Ability to speak a relevant community language.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

• Entry level: $1,563.45 per week, pro rata.
