Provide timely expert legal consultation & advice on a wide range of legal matters including health insurance, corporate, commercial, employment, IT, IP and International Law to management and business units. Assist on corporate and commercial matters; participate in key projects, business deals & negotiations. Conduct research; deliver trainings and knowledge-sharing activities. Perform translation between Arabic and English as required. Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; liaise with regulatory bodies and other public entities. Participate in meetings, work groups and task forces at departmental and company levels. Ensure advice is compliant with UAE local/federal laws and Daman's policies.
Responsibilities- Review, draft and negotiate corporate and commercial contracts, memoranda, official notices and other legal instruments; prepare templates for contracts and forms.
- Provide compliant legal advice aligned with UAE local/federal laws and Daman's policies.
- Adjudicate fraud cases involving providers, members, suppliers or Daman employees; assist business units with investigations and fact-gathering; escalate as needed; take witness statements; coordinate with regulatory bodies and judicial authorities if necessary.
- Work with Internal Audit and HR on matters of internal fraud or where required; ensure all fraud and abuse cases comply with applicable laws and Daman's policies.
- Handle Daman's litigation cases; manage case files; brief and instruct external legal panel firms; provide legal direction in relation to cases; advise management on potential and pending litigations or claims.
- Participate in dispute resolution sessions with third parties; keep senior management informed of new cases.
- 6+ years of experience in a similar role with excellent legal skills; preferably in health insurance.
- Master's degree in Law is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, planning, execution and problem-solving skills; strong verbal and written communication, including presentation skills.
- Very good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of commercial concepts; ability to multi-task and prioritize; results-oriented with high-quality work and "think out of the box" mindset.
- Strong professionalism in all interactions; good knowledge of health insurance concepts and Microsoft applications; up-to-date knowledge of the law relevant to Daman.
