Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented technology lawyer to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) selling cloud services to public and private sector customers throughout the MENA region with a primary focus on supporting AWS public sector sales and procurement compliance in MENA. You will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide range of technology contracts and subcontracts including licensing, reseller and other procurement agreements and responses to requests for proposals and tenders. You will also develop and support internal policies and training programs relating to public procurement compliance.
Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day advice for the AWS MENA Public Sector business on government contracting and public policy matters.
- Review, negotiate and draft technology contracts and subcontracts, including licensing, reseller and procurement agreements; respond to RFPs and tenders.
- Develop and support internal policies and training programs related to public procurement compliance.
- Resolve queries that arise in existing relationships and handle disputes and inquiries.
- Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams on procurement and policy matters.
This position is based in Dubai, UAE. Some regional and international travel will be required. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of Dubai, ARE.
Basic Qualifications- A J.D., LLB, or equivalent degree and admission to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction.
- Minimum 5+ years of post-bar admission legal experience.
- Excellent communication, drafting and negotiation skills.
- Previous in-house experience at a technology company or in technology private practice.
- Knowledge of MENA procurement processes and contracting laws, rules and regulations.
- Understanding of cloud computing and familiarity with cloud, telecommunications, cybersecurity policies and data privacy laws and regulations.
- Experience engaging with policymakers and regulators.
- Arabic language skills, spoken and written.
