Experience Required: 4-10 Years
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and configure Kong entities (services, routes, plugins, caching, API management).
- Create and customize Kong plugins; implement request/response transformations.
- Develop custom Lua scripts for extended functionality.
- Integrate Kong with APIs, backend systems, and DevOps pipelines.
- Manage API security ? authentication, authorization, rate limiting, RBAC.
- Implement traffic management (load balancing, caching).
- Monitor and troubleshoot Kong performance issues.
- Maintain API documentation via Kong Developer Portal.
- Stay updated on new Kong features and best practices.
- Strong experience in Kong administration and development.
- Solid understanding of API design (REST, OpenAPI) and microservices architecture.
- Proficient in Lua and Python scripting.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Kong Ingress, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with API security (OAuth, OIDC, Auth0) and testing tools (Postman, JMeter, Insomnia).
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Bachelor?s degree in computer science or related field.
- Kong certification preferred.
