HammondCare is an independent Christian charity specialising in dementia care, palliative care, and rehabilitation, specialist mental health for older people and other health and aged services.
As a HammondCare volunteer, you'll spend time with someone at our Horsley Care Home to chat in their heart language of Italian. We're looking for a caring individual who can sit and have a chat, reminisce, and talk about topics of interest with an elderly person living with dementia, look through memory books and magazines, go for a walk outside, or visit our local coffee shop.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
• 18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
