Overview
The Hays Bristol finance team are incredibly excited to bring this newly created finance role to market, and we are looking for a commercially minded, detail-driven Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a fast-growing start-up in Bristol. This newly created role offers the opportunity to build financial systems and processes from the ground up, while partnering directly with the CEO and senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Own daily finance operations and deliver accurate month-end reportingLead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow managementStrengthen financial controls and improve process efficiencyProvide strategic insights to support pricing, margin, and growth decisionsCollaborate with external accountants and internal stakeholdersDeliver C-suite-level reporting and support business scalabilityWhat We're Looking ForACA / ACCA / CIMA qualifiedExperience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role (ideally retail/SME)Strong technical accounting and systems setup experienceCommercial acumen with the ability to translate data into strategyHands-on, proactive, and confident communicatorExperience with Xero preferredDesirableKnowledge of e-commerce, retail, and inventory-based financeExperience supporting business scaling or international growthWhat's on OfferOwnership of the finance function in a high-growth environmentDirect collaboration with founders and senior leadershipStaff discount and genuine career development opportunitiesInterested?
