Position overview

An exciting opportunity to lead the establishment of the new Centre for Indigenous Economic Transformation (CIET).

Within the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy, the Centre will play a strategic role in promoting a national collaboration on Indigenous economic empowerment through economic and fiscal policy design and advocacy, translational research, cross sector partnerships, and education and professional development. Working alongside First Nations, governments and industry, the Centre seeks to move beyond problem diagnosis and focus on collaborative actions that further Indigenous economic self-determination and support Indigenous peoples to sustain their unique rights, cultures and connections to the Country.

The ANU College of Law, Governance and Public Policy (CLGP) is a progressive and newly established College that brings together four world-leading academic schools dedicated to shaping the future of law, governance, regulation, policy and population health. This is an identified position in accordance with the University's Identified Positions Procedure. The Position

As the Interim Director, you will play a critical role in the establishment of the Centre, build a highly effective team and lay the foundations of research, education, policy and engagement for the Centre. Reporting to the College Dean, the Director will take a hands-on approach in building and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will build the financial and physical resources to support the Centre's establishment and its strategic mission.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, action-oriented leader capable of driving the successful establishment of a nationally significant Centre. The candidate will have expertise in organisational start-up, recruitment, and governance design, coupled with deep cultural integrity and experience working with Indigenous communities. The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator, a recognised leader in their discipline as well as demonstrating resilience, agility, and the ability to build strategic partnerships that lay a strong foundation for the Centre's future impact.
