The Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management (DPFEM) is committed to keeping children safe in Tasmania. This fixed term, full time position within the SFCU Intelligence Hub requires resilience, excellent communication, decision making skills and an understanding of child safety legislation.
Duties- Review, process, value add and develop intelligence products to assist investigations of matters involving children requiring an operational response by Tasmania Police.
- Engage with partner agencies and work collaboratively in a complex and pressurised environment.
- Apply relevant legislation, policies and best practices related to child safety in Tasmania.
- Arson and fire setting
- Sexual offences
- Dishonesty (theft, burglary, fraud)
- Deception (obtaining an advantage by deception)
- Violent crimes and crimes against the person
- Malicious damage and destruction to property
- Trafficking of narcotic substance
- Knowledge of the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 1997 and related child safety legislation.
- Experience in intelligence analysis or similar investigative role.
- Strong communication, decision making and resilience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies in a pressurised environment.
